Bouquets for Doll Bonnets and much more!
Shown here is a large selection of small florals that were not shown in the online shop before, since I was not sure how best to present them in a pleasing, appealing manner. They were all higgledy-piggledy in boxes and every time I wanted to untangle the mess, I closed the boxes again. But now I finally tackled the task and bound around 200 mixed bunches of flowers, leaves and stamens – all a mixture of vintage, old, very old and even antique. No doll hat or bonnet is complete without a lovely floral bouquet or even just a single flower. Even the simplest bonnet gets elevated to a work of art with an arrangement of suitable flowers, leaves and stamens. Some of these florals are fragile, due to their age which in turn lends a look of authenticity to the finished 19th century bonnet. I bound them so it is easy to undo them and use them for a variety of projects. Some flowers were puchased already bound into bouquets. They are from fabric like silk, cotton, rayon and velvet, paper, felt, even waxed and lacquered flowers and leaves are amongst some of the bouquets. A metric tape measure is along one side to gives an indication of size. Sorry for placing it upside down in some photos! Each space of either black or white is 10 cm. Each line across to the next one is 1 cm. The subdivisions are millimeters, 10 to a centimeter. The flowers are not described further, unless there is something very special to be pointed out. Prices are kept way below their actual worth, so they are already discounted!
These tiny works of art are quite rare today. They are all hand made and not crafted in this manner any longer. The price for them would be astronomical if made today.
