This is an incredible quality cotton - the threads are so fine and closely woven, you can hardly see them, yet the fabric is exceptionally fine and has a great crisp hand. It reminds me of an old-fashioned chintz with its floral motifs and smooth - yet not glossy - surface. The fabric "rustles" almost like a silk. Use it for both German and French dolls and it looks great combined with plain silk taffeta or silk satin. It is wonderful to drape and gather, and a joy to work with.
