Guipure lace (also called "chemical lace") and, with its distinctive designs has always been one of the more precious laces. It should be used just flat or slightly pressed into a rounded shape. Otherwise, the beautiful design of the lace gets lost. Guipure lace is always used most effectively on a plain and/or contrasting ground. This old lace is soft, narrow with a wonderful van-dyke design.
